Be a part of this year's creative swap!
You can make anything you would like, and you don’t have to spend a lot to make it. The only rule is you must be creative and you must make as many reproductions as there are people participating. If you like to draw, you can scan and print copies of your drawing. If you like to make pottery, you can make multiples of your teacups. If you like to write poetry, you can make small artist books reproductions with your poems. You can make anything, as long as you love it and you think others’ will enjoy it. Do not frame your work, unless it enhances the concept: we want to keep cost minimal.
This Year’s Theme: For this creative Swap, each participant must choose one of the following words to inspire a 2 or 3-dimensional visual piece of work:
1. Slice—to cut through or cleave with or as if with a knife: The ship sliced the sea.
2. Lurid—glaringly vivid or sensational; shocking: the lurid tales of pulp magazines.
3. Crepuscular—Of, relating to, or resembling twilight; dim; indistinct.
The visual representation can be ANYTHING that comes to mind. We will be curious to hear about your tangential process to the final piece. You must make as many replications of the piece to share with participants in the swap. You will also want to create one for yourself!
Schedule: The event kick off is on March 6 and the actual swap is on March 30.
